Born in British Columbia, I reside in Surrey, B.C. As a child, I travelled the West Coast of British Columbia by boat with my parents and siblings, experiencing the incredible beauty afforded only by this mode of travel.
Later, I spent a few years in Banff, Alberta as well as Ontario, Michigan and back to B.C. residing in Langley. I spent many years photographing these wonderful places, from the North Channel in Ontario to a 1200-mile trip down the T.V.A. to Chattanooga, Tennessee, Europe and Northern Africa.
I was taking picture-framing courses in Langley, where I was asked if I would like to take a painting course offered by renowned local artist Brent Heighton. Knowing nothing about watercolour painting, I was excited about this opportunity.
Brent made a statement during that first course: “Watercolour is the most difficult medium to work in”, which I found so intriguing that I have painted almost daily since I met him.
My love of nature is reflected in my West Coast scenes, using watercolour as my medium. When my paintbrush is resting, you will find me in the garden, tending to my other passions, growing rhododendrons and azaleas.
